This report is designed by the Association for Information and Image Management International(AIIM) to provide a worldwide status of key document technologies, from both a user and avendor perspective. This overview is not only from the supplier's view of the technologies theyare promoting and applications solutions they are developing for users, but is also from the user'sview of the technologies in use now and the problems they are trying to solve. The report draws its user sample from three different sources: AIIM's membership in the U.S. and two information technology (IT) executive samples from Europe and Asia/Pacific. The vendor sample is primarily U.S.-based, but includes suppliers from Europe and Japan. The report is divided into three main sections:

In the Overall Market Trends section, the report discusses current market valuations and projected forecasts on a worldwide basis, market perception measurements and market implementation issues and measurements as well as analysis of buying trends by region, platform, industry, revenue category, and industry market share. Within the Technology Segment Trends section, trends and measurements for each of the key technologies are studied. Within the Applications of Document Technologies section, the report looks at trends and measurements for electronic commerce (E-commerce), knowledge management (KM), vertical, and Web content management applications.
