Requirements for splicing processed microfilm, and leaders and trailers independent of film width or type of base support are discussed in this standard. Improperly spliced microfilm can cause numerous difficulties when making subsequent microfilm copies or when used in readers and reader-printers. It is the intent of this standard to prevent splice-related problems by establishing adequate splice requirements.
