ASME Y14.3-2012

This Standard establishes the requirements for creatingorthographic, and pictorial views on engineeringdrawing graphic sheets and in models. View requirementsare generally the same regardless of how they arecreated. Specific requirements that are applicable onlyto constructed or to saved views are defined throughoutthe standard.

The topics covered include the multiview system ofdrawing, selection, and arrangement of orthographicviews, auxiliary views, section views, details, pictorialviews, conventional representation of features withsome practices applicable only to constructed views,practices applicable to saved views on drawing graphicsheets, and practices applicable only to saved views inmodels.

The methods for constructing orthographic and pictorialviews are beyond the scope of this Standard.Space geometry and space analysis and applications areincluded in the appendices for informational purposes.
