Scope:
This Standard specifies a method for the laboratoryevaluation of treated or untreated cellulosic material, cellulosiccomposite material, or non-cellulosic material for its resistanceto subterranean termites. As described below, either a singlechoice (also referred to as a "no choice") test and/or a twochoice test procedure can be used for each material to betested. Since specific information can be gained from each test,it is recommended that both tests be run. This test method isintended to be a screening test. It may also be used to provideinformation for standardization of protection treatments.
1.2 The method is applicable to both a single choice (or nochoice)test and a choice test to determine toxicity oracceptance as a food source of cellulosic or cellulosiccomposite materials to termites.
