The figures included with the text are intended to showhow the correct format and applications of symbols maybe used to convey welding, brazing, and nondestructiveexamination information. They are not intended to representrecommended welding, brazing, nondestructiveexamination, or design practice.
The clause addressing brazing uses the same symbolsthat are used for welding. The clause on nondestructiveexamination symbols establishes the symbols to be usedon drawings to specify nondestructive examination fordetermining the suitability of components. The nondestructiveexamination symbols included in this standardrepresent nondestructive examination methods as discussedin the latest edition of AWS B1.10M/B1.10,Guide for the Nondestructive Examination of Welds. Definitionsand the details for the use of the various nondestructiveexamination methods are found in AWSB1.10M/B1.10.
