Although there have been several studies aimed at determining the mechanisms and corresponding kinetics of C.parvum oocyst inactivation and bromate formation separately, new efforts are required to investigate the simultaneous control of C. parvum oocyst and bromate formation with ozone in natrural waters. Based on this need, the main objective of this study is the simultaneous simulation of C. parvum oocyst inactivation and bromate formation in various natural waters. A model was developed for the assessment and optimization of the ozone disinfection process as a function of contactor configuration, operating conditions and water quality characteristics. This study focuses on the evaluation of the model with lab-scale experiments and the elucidation of the roles of relevant water quality parameters on the overall system performance. Includes 24 references, tables, figures.
