As monopoly utilities continue to transform themselves into efficient business-driven entities, the workforce is becoming more diverse. By 2010, about half of the workforce will have shifted from predominantly white male to predominantly women of various ethnic backgrounds--in rural as well as urban areas. This significant shift will cause major cultural challenges in the workplace.
