  • Pipe Section Reactor to Evaluate Chlorine Wall Demand
  • Conference Proceeding by American Water Works Association, 06/16/2002

The effects of water velocity and corrosion rate, as influenced by water quality conditions, on chlorine decay rate was evaluated in laboratory experiments with a new pipe section reactor design. A heavily tuberculed, cast iron pipe section was used. The bulk decay rate followed first-order kinetics while the wall decay rate followed zero-order kinetics. Includes 16 references, table, figures.
