The objective of this research was to perform bench scale studies in order toevaluate the effectiveness of ballasted sand flocculation (BSF) and ultraviolet (UV)disinfection technologies used in treating combined sewer overflow (CSO) generatedduring the storm events. The performances of BSF and UV disinfection along withfouling of UV lamps were studied using different coagulants at different concentrationsunder varying effluent compositions for both dry and wet weather conditions. Includes 2 references, tables, figure.
