This slide presentation begins by outlining background information on water accountability and gives statistics on the huge problem that it's become. The International DemandManagement Framework is outlined, and the presentation is organized into three sections dealing with new developments in water efficiency. The first is National Initiatives and outlines topics that include: Efficient Water Products Labeling such as Energy STAR criteria for dishwashers and clothes washers; CEE commercial kitchens initiative; submetering and billing allocation; the need for unified toilet standards; Uniform North American Requirements (UNAR); Smart Water Application Technology (SWAT) Initiative; and, U.S. Energy Bill. The second section is on Regional Initiatives and outlines topics that include Texas Water Loss Initiatives, and deed restrictions and covenants. The third section is on Local Initiatives and outlines topics that include: Electronic Marketing Initiatives; Austin Evapotranspiration (ET) Landscape Audits; water budgets; and, negotiated national standards.
