This slide presentation outlines a study on changes in residential water use due to drought. Study goals include: determine changes made in response totime and drought;evaluate compliance with outdoorirrigation rules and guidelines;establish a new baseline for evaluation offuture conservation measures; and, assess impact of drought restrictions onlawn quality. Study conclusions indicated: indoor changes due more to fixture changesthan customer habit changes; there isstill potential for additional savings; there isstill a need to educate customers about how to changehabits;significant reductions in outdoor use, butpresent levels may be detrimental to landscapes;customers generally complied with irrigationrules and guidelines; and,leaks increased and we don't yet know why.
