The Stage 2 Disinfection Byproduct Rule (DBPR) and the Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface WaterTreatment Rule (LT2ESWTR) were promulgated in the Federal Register on January 4, 2006, andJanuary 5, 2006, respectively. These rules have multiple urgent requirements, including therequirement for utilities to do an initial distribution system evaluation (IDSE), disinfectionbenchmarking, and source water monitoring.
