This slide presentation outlines a new adsorptive technology based on lanthanumchemistry that yieldsmore cost effective results, andadditional improvements in stability of adsorbedarsenic in acidic and alkaline environments. NXT-2 characteristics are listed along with comparative technology performancetest results and pilot column performancetest results. Results conclude that Lanthanum Technologyis cost effective because it givesmaximum removal efficiency andoperates over a wide pH range without pH adjustment. Also, Lanthanum Technologyreduces system complexity and cost, reduces operator requirements, anddoes not require chlorination to remove As III- efficientlyremoves both.Lanthanum Technology is safe because it isless likely to release bound arsenic in the event of pHupset, andreduces handling of acidic solutions required for pHadjustment. Includes tables, figures.
