This slide presentation outlines a project by the Brazos River Authority to blend water sources to increase water supply to meet the population growth in the Brazos River area of Texas. Future water supply needs are outlined, along with planning activities specific to groundwater and conjunctive use, with the outcome being the Williamson County Water Supply Plan. Goals of the plan include: develop a regional water supply system tomeet current and long-term water needs forWilliamson County; and, develop a "preferred" method to procuregroundwater as a future component of theAuthority's water supply system. Phase 1 summary included:maximizing use of existing infrastructure andwater supply to defer early water needs;includes utilization of additional available waterfrom Lake Stillhouse Hollow;new authority WWCRWTP;expansion of authority EWCRWTP (formerlyTaylor WTP); and, meets needs through next 20 to 30 years. Groundwater and conjunctive use was theprimary focus of this study and involved:Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer Groundwater;Supplement Lake Granger Supply;resulted in ability to withdraw additionalLake Granger water = CONJUNCTIVEUSE. Phase 2 summary included:Lake Granger Conjunctive Use;expanded SW and GW treatment at AuthorityEWCRWTP by 82.1 MGD (Four Phases);amount of treated water made available:45,985 acft/yr; and, meets demands through 2050. Includes tables.
