This powerpoint presentation begins by presenting a brief overview of the severe water shortage in Brisbane, Australia. A multi-facetted list of solutions is provided, including reuse at power stations and indirect potable reuse. The world's largest membrane-basedwater reclamation projects are listed, along with the initial plan, six existing wastewater treatment plants, advanced water treatment plant locations, and a process diagram including the following steps: chloramine disinfection controls biofouling; coagulation/sedimentation lowers concentrations; microfiltration/ultrafiltration (MF/UF) microbial log removal; reverse osmosis removes dissolved material; ultraviolet H2O2 - advanced oxidation; stabilization - corrosion control for pipelines; disinfection - chlorine residual for pipelines; biological denitrification - lowers TN to river; breakpoint chlorination - lowers NH3 to river. An example of a case study at the Bundamba Site is presented. Includes tables, figures.
