This powerpoint presentation begins by presenting a case studyfor Punta Gorda, a smallcoastalcommunityin Florida. The study evaluated the city's reusefeasibility based on 4 factors including:water qualityconstraints; treatment tomeet regulatoryrequirements; reuse customerdemands/public perception; and, cost oftreatment andtransmission. Reuse study conclusions indicate that:all scenarios are more costly than potablewater;since Punta Gorda has a permitted20-year water supply, implementation ofa reuse program is not justified at thistime;an infiltration study was commissionedto evaluate potential to reduce chlorideconcentrations through infiltration repairs(eliminate RO) to decrease cost; and, after the infiltration study, the city willreassess the potential for a reuse program. Includes tables, figures.
