A yearlong pilot-study was conducted at two different alluvial well sites using 2.0gpm pilot units. The pilot-study investigated the effectiveness of ROtreatment with the addition of several types of antiscalants and antifoulants in treatingalluvial well water. Bench-scale studies were also conducted that focused onreducing total phosphorus level from RO concentrate water and in meeting theNPDES phosphorus discharge limits. The bench-scale tests included coagulationfollowed by low-pressure membrane filtration (such as MF) to removephosphorus from the RO concentrate water. Includes tables, figures.
