This poster paper presents a study to develop a basic kinetic parameter that can be used as a starting point for establishing the most efficient surface loading rate during pilot testing for the removal of iron through a biological filter. A mass balance was set up around the pilot columns which produced the advection-dispersion equation with a first order rate decay constant (Schnoor, 1996). Includes 10 references, figures.
