This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the issue of dealing with zebra and quagga mussels over a vastarea with multiple jurisdictions, state agencies, federalagencies, private industry and partners. The Western Regional Panel in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Regional Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Coordinators developed the Quagga/ZebraAction Plan (QZAP) to highlight the high priority actionsand resources needed to address the introductionand spread of quagga and zebra mussels inwestern North America in order to protect nativespecies and water delivery infrastructure. Immediate high priorityactions are listed, along with long-term actions and needs.
