This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the growing treatment concern in Colorado over the impacts ofwastewater flows in some areas of the state. Examples of concentrate disposal issues at three utilities are presented, along with the formation of a Membrane Treatment Group under the Colorado Water Quality Forum. Consensus findings of the workgroup are presented for discharge options and for zero liquid discharge (ZLD), with workgroup recommendations to the State WaterQuality Control Commission stating that Colorado needs to developZLD technologies anddemonstrate their use, including a pilot testing program. ZLD pilot test status is outlined, including the objectives of pilot testing, the technologies considered for testing, and resource recovery. Includes table, figure.
