This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the well water supply at two adjacent prisons in California, the High Desert State Prison and the California Correctional Center. Project objectives include: design of WTP for arsenic compliance; one versus two facilities; hydraulics; pilot plant; and, volatile organic chemical (VOC) removal from one well. Project schedule is presented, along with preliminary design report, VOC removal system, and volatile and semi-volatile organic contaminants. The pilot plant objectives included: determine benefit of acid addition; observe performance of both medias; and, determine quality of exhausted waste. Arsenic pilot plant results are provided, along with cost-effectiveness relativeto coagulation/filtration options, and the status of operations. Includes tables.
