This powerpoint presentation provides a brief overview of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities (CMU) water system and Master Planand illustrates how the drought and changing water usepatterns were addressed in the master planning process tohelp ensure that CMU would develop a sustainable MasterPlan which considers potential climate change and waterscarcity issues. Master Plan objectives included the following: establish water demand projections;perform hydraulic capacity evaluations; identify needed treatment, pumping, storage, andtransmission main improvements; and, prepare 5-year and 10-year Capital Improvements Plans (CIPs) with capital costs. Historical and projected growth is presented, along with residential unit consumption analysis, and potential impacts on facilities planning. Includes tables, figures.
