This paper summarizes findings from 15 case studies of industrial facilities in San Jose, California, where cost-effective conservation measures were implemented. The case studies covered four industrial groups--electronics manufacturing, metal finishing, paper reprocessing, and food processing. Conservation measures reduced the combined water consumption of the companies studied by 1.5 billion gallons per year. Economic benefits from the conservation amounted to a combined savings of about $2 million per year.
