Pilot testing results are presented for three different low-pressure softening membranes. The test results are used to verify performance for a 28 mgd low-pressure membrane softening water treatment plant which is presently under design. Each membrane demonstrated the ability to meet required water quality goals. These goals include organic carbon removal to allow a product water with trihalomethane formation potential levels below 15 micrograms per liter.
