This paper describes how the City of Phoenix applied SCADA technology to its water system. Specifically, the following are presented: an overview of the operation of the Cit's water production and delivery system and discussion of some of the challenges presented to the Water Production Division; the City's use of computer based monitoring and control equipment; future uses for the technological tools provided by SCADA to optimize water distribution operation.
