The general objective of the proposed research was to develop models for predicting coagulation efficiency in removing NOM, and treated (coagulated) water precursor level (DOC or UVA254). The specific objective was to develop a model for describing precursor removals, and providing a prediction of treated-water dissolved organic carbon (or UVA254). A secondary objective was to test the hypothesis that coagulation preferentially removes humic over non-humic precursors, and higher-molecular-weight (MW) over lower-MW precursors, as indicated by DOC or UVA2454 measurements.
