The objectives of the present study are to investigate the formation and removal of ketoacids in water treatment and to assess the correlation between ketoacids and assimilable organic carbon (AOC) in a variety of treated waters. Three ketoacids; glyoxylic acid, pyruvic acid and ketomalonic acid, were identified and quantified in ozonated waters.
