  • Isolation and Characterization of Aquatic Natural Organic Matter: Implications for Removal During Water Treatment
  • Conference Proceeding by American Water Works Association, 01/01/1993
  • Publisher: AWWA

The objectives of this research were: to extract and fractionate aquatic NOM from a moderately colored surface water; to determine the molecular size distribution of all organic fractions; to further fractionate the more abundant primary fractions based on molecular size; to determine charge vs pH characteristics of all functions and of the aliquots obtained by molecular size fractionation; and to comment on the potential for removal of these fractions based on the above results.
