The focus of the present study was to investigate the destruction efficiency of a selected VOC, trichloroethylene (TCE), achieved with an emerging technology: gas phase photocatalysis. This process only requires the presence of naturally abundant molecular oxygen and water vapor, the use of inexpensive photocatalyst anatase titanium dioxide (TiO2), and the presence of low-energy ultraviolet (UV) light radiation (360 nm wavelength).
