Objectives of the study were to: monitor and model oxidant consumption (chlorine and chlorine dioxide) in clear wells and distribution systems (DSs); monitor and model the formation of disinfection byproducts (hexane extractable DBP, haloacetic acids (HAA), total organic halides (AOX), chlorites and chlorates) in clear wells and DSs; and distinguish the consumption of oxidants and the formation of byproducts caused by the water quality of the one caused by the pipes.
