This project consists of computerization of the Metropolitan District Commission's (MDC's) hydrant management and cross connection inspection programs through the use of infrastructure management software. The project was implemented through a series of phases that included initial system design and implementation planning, database development, and software installation and training. The system enables MDC to more efficiently collect, organize, and report data related to fire hydrant maintenance and cross connection inspection programs. Computerization allows the MDC to effectively respond to ever increasing reporting requirements and maintenance needs while continuing to provide a high level of service to its customers. The paper discusses hardware configuration, software products, user workshops, software customizing, data conversion, GIS integration, and user training and manuals.
