This paper discusses how North Carolina plans to deal with the regulations for Disinfectants/Disinfection By-Products (D/DBPs). Plans and proposals for all 3 rules: Information Collection Requirements also referred to as Information Collection Rule (ICR); Interim Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (ESWTR) for systems greater than 10K (10,000 persons served) are included. Responses to changes to the ESWTR less than 10K (including possible refinements for larger systems); and two stage D/DBP rule are covered. Detailed information about these regulations, including benchmarking and pilot studies, monitoring, and ozone disinfection and how they relate to North Carolina's current water treatment program are outlined.
