This paper describes a work study program through United Water New Jersey, Harrington Park, New Jersey and Northern Valley Regional High School that allows high school students a hands on learning experience for the biology and chemistry students. This partnership allows the students to benefit from the company's new analytical water quality lab, research expertise, and state-of-the-art instrumentation. The students get to see how their skills help in the real world and put students to work on cutting-edge water industry research. Students are allowed to participate in the research process and this program allows the utility to be a community partner.
