The objective of this research was to investigate the impact of treatment and free chlorine contact time on bulk chloramine decay under reaction conditions which may be used in practice. Three treatment scenarios were examined: coagulation, flocculation and sedimentation; ozonation of the settled water followed by biofiltration; and, nanofiltration of the raw water. After each of the above treatment scenarios, the impact of free chlorine contact time and initial chlorine dosage on subsequent chloramine decay was investigated. Also, DBP formation was assessed.
