In 1996, the City of Pompano Beach began development and implementation of a comprehensive water supply and treatment plan to address the short- and long-term needs of the City. The comprehensive plan basically outlines what the City is doing and how the City will implement their plan. The comprehensive plan was designed to address issues related to raw water supply and water treatment to ensure safe and reliable potable water for the City's residents in future years. Specific elements contained within the comprehensive plan include programs for inflow and infiltration, water reuse/conservation, stormwater master planning, raw water supply, and treatment master planning, and permitting. Each of these elements have specific benefits which assist the City in meeting their future goals.
