This paper outlines a program to audit the First Nations infrastructure in British Columbia, Canada, for Y2K compliance. While the project deals with all community infrastructure inlcuding wastewater collection and treatment systems, public buildings and electric power generation, the scope of this paper will deal only with community water systems. The project is divided into three phases: Phase I, desktop review for Y2K compliance; Phase II, site visits of facilities identified in Phase I as Y2K noncompliant; and, Phase III upgrade of Y2K noncompliant facilities. Topics covered include: personal computers; programmable logic controllers; embedded systems; infrastructure evaluation; drawing review; O&M manuals review; data collection forms; and, audit results.
