One of the most prevalent analytical tools that can be layered upon a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system is a network simulation. With the integration of these two technologies a wealth of applications can be realized from close to real-time control of systems through to operators training and more effective management and planning of the network. This paper describes the work undertaken by the Syndicat des Eaux d'Ile de France (SEDIF) and its operator General des Eaux (GdE) at Paris for developing a specific application which allows linking fo the SEDIF telemetry system with a network simulator (the Stoner Workstation Service or SWS). The project involved several companies: Prolog Ingenierie as leading consultant, GTIE as SCADA provider, Generale d'Infographie as GIS vendor and Stoner Associates as network analysis software provider.
