This paper focuses on the concept of developing an intuitive central control system (ICCS) for water treatment facilities on a PC based platform. This paper will define what constitutes an ICCS and how much easier it is to build, operate, configure and make changes on an ICCS over a traditional central control system. The reader will be able to take the concepts presented here and build an ICCS for water treatment facilities anywhere in the country. A team whose knowledge base includes an instrumentation technician, an engineer who is familiar with PLC and MOORE Controllers and someone who is competent with computer hardware and software would be able to integrate all the existing control systems in any water treatment facilities into a PC based ICCS.
