The size and complexities of operating and maintaining the Erie County Water Authority (ECWA) water system, and reliably evaluating capital improvement projects, substantiated the need for an accurate and up-to-date means for analyzing system hydraulic processes. The purposes of the assignment performed by Gannett Fleming were to update and enhance the existing ECWA distribution system hydraulic model, and to calibrate the revised model to verify its accurate representation of the ECWA system. The updated hydraulic model represented in this paper, is useful for analyses involving deficiency investigations, future needs studies, and prioritizing system improvements to allow proper planning for Capital Improvement and Infrastructure Programs.
