Wright-Patterson Air Force Base maintains its own water system which serves approximately 30,000 people working and living on its 8,000 acres. To maintain the current system and address future development, the base created a water management system using Intergraph's Microstation linked to an Informix Database and a KYPIPE water distribution model. Procedures for developing this system and tips for avoiding potential pitfalls are detailed in this paper.
