The Denver Water Nonpotable Reuse Project has been implemented to reuse Denvermetropolitan wastewater, and thereby defer the need to develop new raw watersources. Denver Water developed a pilot plant for this non-potable reuse project, which began operation in 1985. Operation of this plant continued until late 1990.Information from this pilot study was used to develop the necessary data requiredto establish the relative safety of reclaimed wastewater as a potable watersupply. This paper discusses the design of the Project's reuse distributionsystem which utilized hydraulic modeling. The main objectives of the modelsimulations were to refine pipe diameter estimates needed to meet maximum demandconditions, and to monitor the effects of fluctuating demands on storage volumesand operating pressures throughout the nonpotable reuse distribution system. Includes 2 references, tables, figures.
