This paper describes a customized maintenance management software application that the City of Lawrence, Kansas, uses in their wastewater and water treatment plants. Called the Lawrence Maintenance Manager, it is a customized equipment maintenance management application developed using Microsoft Access 8.0, which is a non-proprietary relational database software. The features of this networked application are: uses group level security to ensure data integrity; tracks information on equipment, vendors, maintenance labor cost, and employees; assigns/schedules preventative maintenance; requests work orders for equipment; uses a customized report wizard to generate summary reports; and, uses a data explorer to provide user friendly navigation of data in the application.
