In a research project aimed at eliminating or controlling the leaching of tetrachloroethylene from vinyl- lined asbestos-cement (A-C) pipe, cleaning and cement- lining of A-C pipes were studied. Tetrachloroethylene concentrations were reduced by removing the vinyl liner and applying a cement-mortar liner, and by applying cement mortar directly over the vinyl liner. Includes tables, figures.
