Continuous efforts are being made by the General Organization for Greater Cairo Water Supply to improve both its organization and its systems. Institutional aspects of the organization that are currently being upgraded include employee training, inventory control, water conservation, and financing and accounting. Technological aspects being upgraded include expansion of a water treatment plant, water quality control, improvements in engineering and planning, implementation of telemetry, construction of a plant for removing iron and manganese, and the introduction of mobile workshops. Includes 3 references, figures.
