A comparative study of students from towns with differing levels of sodium in drinking water revealed statistically significantly higher blood pressure distributions among the students from the town with high sodium levels for both systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings in boys as well as girls. In light of the multifactorial origin of differential blood pressure levels between individuals and groups, these findings must be interpreted with caution, although careful statistical analysis has effectively eliminated many of the potentially confounding variables. Includes 21 references, table, figures.
