Although ozonation of bromide ion-containing water can produce bromate ion, studies with the hydrogen peroxide-ultraviolet-visible irradiation (H2O2-UV-Vis) advanced oxidation process demonstrated that this reaction did not occur when this advanced oxidation process was used. Reduction of any HOBr formed by the excess H2O2 used in this process may have prevented bromate formation. Includes 15 references, tables, figure.
