The Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) recently completed construction of the new 10mgd (expandable to 40 mgd) Hemet (California) Water Filtration Plant (HWFP). The core of thefacility's filtration and disinfection process is a ZeeWeed 500d ultrafiltration membrane systemutilizing a new membrane tank design. This paper discusses the tank design and how it allows the facility to operate at 98 percentrecovery while providing 4-log removal of Cryptosporidium to exceed requirements of the newLong Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (LT2ESWTR). Includes figures.
