This paper briefly describes the scwd2 seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO)desalination pilot-scale study, presents summary results from 9 months of pilot tests onthe alternative pretreatment systems, and compares the carbon footprint of thealternative pretreatment systems. In this paper, carbon footprint is defined as theequivalent carbon dioxide in metric tons per year of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
