Total organic carbon (TOC) in water is an important analytical parameter in evaluating water quality. Measurement of total organic carbon concentration plays a critical role in a variety of industrial and environmental applications. This paper describes a new TOC analyzer that has been designed to be an easy to use, reliable, high performance instrument to satisfy the demands of industrial and environmental customers. The Phoenix 8000 is a PC-based UV/persulfate analyzer that has been tested for accuracy and precision across a wide range of concentration levels. Excellent precision at low parts per billion ranges, along with the ability to minimize carryover have been demonstrated.
