High temperature and UV/persulfate total organic carbon analysis are useful tools for analyzing a wide range of compounds that can be found in aqueous samples. High temperature TOC analysis utilizes combustion to oxidize organic material in a sample while UV/persulfate analysis uses wet chemistry to affect oxidation. This study looked at the ability of each method to give good accuracy and precision when measuring some compounds that have historically given low recoveries or poor reproducibility.
